Text 14 Jan Tumblr’s Choice

I don’t really know what to write. I think I’ll write about the 5 day weekend that will start after I finish this blog. Some of my friends and I are going to see the movie Avatar in 3d. I’ve never seen the movie, but I heard its very good and got a good rating on IMDB. So we are going to see that in Charlestowne at noon. I don’t know what I’ll do afterwards. Maybe go hang out with some friends and probably get my sleep that I haven’t gotten this week because of the finals.

Text 14 Jan 2 Meals (show v. tell)

•Describe at least two meals you have eaten (including beverages) recently •Use at least 5 specific “Show” words for each description (a total of 10)

The first bite you take of that delicious and juicy cake, you feel like you’re floating in the clouds. You can taste the layers of chocolate as you’re digesting it in your mouth. The taste of coco beans and a little hint of coffee circles your mouth as you chew this scrumptious three layered coffee cake. By the time you take your second bite, you’re already done and the plate is empty and you want seconds.

This is one of my favorite meals, a big plateful of a cheesy layered lasagna. Once you see the plateful, you can see all the cheese flowing down from the top. And every bite you take, you can only taste the cheese and nothing else. As you cut a piece of the lasagna and lift it up towards your mouth, you can see the cheese wraping around your fork, waiting to go into your mouth.

Text 5 Jan Tuesday Tunes Day…the last

This song reminds me of a beautiful sunrise. I can almost picture it because I just came back last sunday. Laying down on the beach and watching the sun rise. It’s a beautiful sight to see. It’s really neat how God created the sun and the moon and the ocean. Just typing about this makes me want to go back. As the sun is rising, the brightness of the sun blinds you and you begin to feel the warmth. This is an inspirational song that sounds like a begining of something new.

I have enjoyed doing the tuesday tunes-day blogs every tuesday because I got a chance to listen to a new song and express my thoughts a feelings about the song in a blog entry. I liked the fact that most of the songs played didn’t have much lyrics and were calming and welcoming. The songs helped me reflect about my day as I live it out til the end.

TUESDAY TUNES-DAY ROCKS

Text 4 Jan Quantity vs. Quality

I believe that both quantity and both quality matter. They both matter and are important. It all depends on the assignment or the task given. If you have to make as much projects as possible in a given time, then you will most likely rush it get it done but you will do it in the right way by learning from mistakes while building. But when it comes to quality, there isn’t much room for imporvement. You can either spend all your time on one project and work around the troubles that come about. You can make changes but won’t have the time to improve unless you start all over or make a change. I think I’m leaning more towards quantity because there’s a much greater chance for improvement as well as a better grade earned.

The amount of Tumblrs’ and writing assignments we’ve done really paid off because everytime we had another blog entry to do or written assignment, we improved because we learned from our mistakes that we made in the previous assignment. I improved my blogs and my writing assignments as the semester went by because I learned what I did wrong and what I can improve on. I think that I’ve learned a lot in this class and will use the skills learned in the future to come.

Text 15 Dec Tuesday Tunes-Day 11: Days Were Golden

This is the type of music that I like to listen to. It kind of sounds like Third Eye Blind. I just downloaded some of thier songs yesterday they’re pretty good. Especially their number one songs: Never let me Go and 1000 Julys. They also sound somewhat like One Republic.

Another one of my bands. I like to listen to all sorts of genres of music with the exception of country and screamo. I can’t stand screamo.

101.1 is my type of radio station with a hint of B96. Rolling around in my car with my sunroof open and my windows half way open listening to some B96 tunes. I wish winter ended sooner. But first I have to fix my radio in order to listen to music.

I have to reseach this song to see who the artist is and possibly download some of their songs.

JENNINGS, YOU HAVE A GOOD TASTE IN MUSIC.

Text 14 Dec An Important Person In My Life

The Most important person in my life would be my dad. Although he’s my stepdad, I don’t treat him as one. I didn’t really know my real father and he wasn’t always there for me. He died a tragic death, but didn’t really act as a DAD. My so called second father, Andrey, is my father father. He was always there for me from age 6. He supported my family and me with everything I needed and did anything he could to make us happy. It was  because of him we were able to come to America. I only remember my birth father through pictures. I look just like him, except taller and without a mustache. My birth father was spoiled. He was a pimp. He had all the good stuff and drove nice cars, but killed himself by crashing into a pole. I kind of feel the same way because his parents really spoil me by sending me money all the way from Russia. That’s were I get all my money. My grandpa died and my only grandma in Russia is left. I’m pretty sure her WILL will involve sending all her money to my family. Atleast I think so. So yeah, that’s my little personal story for you. I’m not a Kovalev by blood, but I’m a Kovalev by heart.

Text 8 Dec 1 note Tuesday Tunes-Day 10

I hear someone screaming very softly. This sounds like a song that goes along with a horror movie. Something from SAW. But then the entire song changes as the bass kicks in and some other sounds. The drums also come in play and some voices. I could picture hearing this song play in some movie. Like the new Jason Bourne movie.

I could see Jason Bourne sneaking up on some government officer and then taking them out silently. Then all of a sudden, two other officers come in and he starts showing off his tae kwon do moves on them. When the bass part kicks in, that’s when the two officers come in and Jason shows them whose boss.

I don’t enjoy watching scary movies. I’m not a big fan of horror movies or books. The last horror movie I saw was I Am Legend at my cousins house in Pennsylvania. That movie gave me the creeps for at least a month. Especially that one part when Will Smith kidnaps one of the mutant victims. That part when Smith captures some mutants wife and the husband pops out of the dark and looks at Smith like he’s going to get him back. That one part scarred the heck out of me. I kind of want to see that movie again to see whether it will freak me out again.

Text 30 Nov My Turkey Day(s)

This Thanksgiving was the best I’ve ever had. It started the day school ended and lasted till 3 o’clock this morning. On Saturday, as usual, I played hockey with my friends at the Winfield park for a few hours. Later that day, we went to Des Plaines to look at a car for myself. A 45 minute drive but worth it. My dad and I looked at a 1994 Audi 90s. I fell in love with the car right away. The owner was asking $1,950. We negotiated and got it for 200 hundred dollars less. The car is in great condition for its age with decent miles. It should run for another two years with no problem which is what I needed. Your first car shouldn’t be perfect.

The car has some issues. The back up lights don’t work. I think it’s the light bulbs becuuse the fuse is fine. It’s missing a hubcap which ruins the entire look of the car. And now my friend says it’s missing two. All four tires on the car are different and the door panels are coming off. And the interior gauge lights are messed up. The main important feature that doesn’t work in this car is the radio. I think the previous owner messed up the wiring because he installed a custom 12 disc CD changer that can only be played throught a radio station. That’s how bad my car is on the inside. The outside is fine except for some dings and scratches on the body, but NO RUST.

I pray this car doesn’t brake down on me. So that ended my Greatest day of my life.

Sunday I went to church and we had a small group night for the high schoolers that day.

Monday I cleaned out my car and got all the paper work done and temporary plates put on. The car was spotless after I was finished. It took me 3 hours to clean out the car completely. After cleaning it out, I took it out for a spin.

Tuesday I was getting my Ipod ready for the 2 and a half hour trip for Wisconsin Dells. I downloaded some music and synced my Ipod. Got the newest Death Cab album. My family decided to spend our Thanksgiving water-tubing in Wisconsin. There were two other close families that came with us and spent the holiday with. We usually stay in the Wilderness Resort and rent out a 4 bedroom log cabin. There is an indoor waterpark that’s fun for the kids and adults.

Going down to the Dells was a boring ride. My music made my time fly. Especially listening to Owl City. They’re are a great band.

Once we go there, we unloaded and made some food. Then we went to the water park. I haven’t been to the Dells in three years, and surprisingly we went this year even though my family was hit with the economy.

The rides were fun. My most favorite is the Hurricane. It’s a 4 seater tube and you go down a steep decline and go back and forth until you slow down enough to exit. The steep decline is the best part. You have to hold on to the handles if you want to live. You get airtime, Big Time when you go down. Your but is in the air when you go down and the only thing that’s holding you is your hands.

The other slide was called the Black Hole. It’s a one person tube slide and you feel like you’re being flushed down the toilet. You start off by going down in complete darkness and then all of a sudden you pop out of this whole in the wall and the lights come on and you begin your journey of circling the hole and get flushed. It’s fun because the lights are neon and the journey is time consuming.

My least favorite ride is the Dual Mammoths. It’s just a normal 4 seater tube that goes down in complete darkness. This is the slide in which I fool around. I get off the tube and try to water ski. I have done this many times and one time I almost lost control and my grip. But I held on even though I was being dragged. The is the slide in which my friends and I fooled off on. We did all sorts of crazy things, but whatever we did we had to finish it before the exit. When we saw the light, we all jump in the tube and sit down like nothing ever happened. We are the rebels of waterparks. I think it runs in my family because my older brothers did the same.

Above all, I had a great time. The food was great as well as the attractions. The cabin was comfortable and we got good cable. We probably watched 20 hours of T.V. from the 3 days we stayed there.

That was my Thanksgiving break and one of my best. Hope everyone else’s was the same.

Text 17 Nov 1 note Tuesday Tunes-Day 9

I hear a piano playing in the background along with some bass and some sort of sound. Then all of a sudden, some voices come in and begins to sing. This would be a good song to listen to on a boat because it kind of sounds like seagulls in the background flying around in the sky.

I don’t really enjoy this type of music because it’s just not my “tunes.” I need something I could sing along with and enjoy. This is one of Jennning’s reflective songs. A song to help you to reflect on your day, life, actions, etc.

This genre of music is what helps me to fall asleep. I’m falling asleep while writing this post. It’s that bad. I can barely understand the lyrics or what the singer is singing about. Not my type of jams Jennings. Sorry
